Breakfast Blast

we have a tradition of going to breakfast EVERY Sunday morning.  like some people believe in church, we believe in breakfast. yeah, i know, i just offended a whole new set of people!  well, it gets worse, jesus is my bacon!
so anywho! we refused to miss the tradition today even while on vaca. so we found this!

and really, how can you possibly go wrong with directions that include the word "Blast"! devine intervention i tell you!

dollar for dollar

if you've never seen one of these before, and perhaps you have not, this is a LIVE sand dollar. most people only see the ones you can buy in the store, all white.  this is what they look like pulled straight out of the ocean live.

i should know, we used to pick these up all the time growing up on the Gulf.  today, i stepped on one while walking in the surf at Flagler Beach, FL & knew immediately what that feeling was. as many of these as i picked up as a kid, i was still amazed to find this today. i bet i haven't actually seen a live one since i was a kid! and of course i "set it free".  took it back out into the surf, and buried it under water in the sand. hope it is never found again!

booooo! YouTube took it down. well, IT WAS the scene from The Ref where Kevin Spacey tells his mom he's going to get her cross for Christmas. I love that scene. I know that woman!

temporary outage

apologies! i do actually have some small things to post.  just have not been up to it as of late.  that's the downer of summer! so much to do & so little time to post it.  i hope to promise to half way commit to maybe possibly getting some things caught up this week.  but my word is only worth the air it's written on!
